People don't stay the same once they are changed by God. He begins something new in the life of each person who repents of their sin and trusts in Jesus (Phil 1:6). But just like the life we see in any other living being, growth doesn't happen overnight. We become more like Jesus the more we spend time in His word (Rom 12:2).
